VMS Gordon/Rushville FB Game

8th Graders win in last seconds with a touchdown pass

The Valentine Middle School football team traveled to Rushville last night to play the Gordon/Rushville Mustangs. Valentine took a 14 to 0 lead in the first half, but the Mustangs came back with two quick touch down passes. In the closing seconds of the game, Valentine blocked a Mustang punt and took over on the Mustangs' 30 yard line. The first two pass plays didn't work, so Coach Brown drew a pass play up in the sand for the 3rd down and 14 play , and it produced the winning touchdown; a pass play from Matt to Shane.
