On Monday, October 1st, the Valentine Elementary 4th & 5th
graders walked to the Valentine Livestock Auction. The
Sandhills Cattlewomen’s Association sponsored a fun-filled and
educational morning for the students.

The students heard a presentation on why it is impossible to have
an "ag-less day!” The presenters discussed the four main
parts of agriculture: production, processing, marketing, and
distribution. Other presentations included following a steer
through the sales processes and brand inspection, roping seminar,
electrical safety, and veterinarian equipment.
Each teacher was given a bag of pencils, erasers, and gum to
distribute to the students. Many thanks to the Sandhills
Cattlewomen’s Association for sponsoring this agricultural
adventure for the students of VES.
