VHS 2008 ICE BREAKER Tournament

VHS Speech Team Hosts Tournament This Saturday

The Valentine Icebreaker Speech Tournament in its sixth year will
take place on January 12. All VHS speech team members are required to
perform at this tournament. The Icebreaker competition consists of
the nine NSAA sanctioned events which include Duet Acting,
Entertainment, Extemporaneous, Humorous Prose, Informative, Oral
Interpretation of Drama, Persuasive, Poetry and Serious Prose.
Competition consists of two preliminary rounds and one final round.
Students who are entered in more than one event will leave their
first event to participate in the second event. Parents should check
with their students before competition begins for the rounds
participation. Medals for the top six places and superior ribbons,
and first and second place team trophies will be awarded. Six
school teams will be competing at the 2008 Icebreaker: Ainsworth,
Keya Paha, Stuart, Rock County, Valentine and West Holt. All VHS
speech team members will report at 7:15 AM to Mrs. Scott for pictures.
