McQuistan Selected for Hastings College High School Honor Choir

Elizabeth McQuistan, a junior at Valentine High School, was selected to participate in the annual Nebraska High School Honor Choir, Band, and Orchestra Festival, Thursday – Saturday, Feb. 1 – 3. More than 300 high school students auditioned and 100 were selected to participate in the choir, which will culminate with a concert, Saturday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m., in Kiewit Gymnasium, 715 E. 7th Street. Elizabeth is the daughter of Jeff and Lori McQuistan of Valentine.
Guest clinicians include: Dr. Thomas O’Neal, University of Missouri-Columbia. (honor band); Mr. Brian Breed, Purdue University (honor choir); and Dr. James Richards, University of Missouri-St. Louis., (honor orchestra).
This is the 38th year for the honor choir, 46th year for the honor band, and the 29th year for the honor orchestra. The Hastings College Music Department was the first Nebraska College to host such an event.
