Valentine High School Foundation
The mission of the Valentine High School Foundation is to use money donated and apply it to a base principal in which the Foundation accrues interest from. From this accrued interest, the foundation then offers scholarships to graduating seniors. The principal is not used.
If you are wondering how we started the foundation, here is a bit of history. The Foundation was formed in 2000 with the main purpose to build up a monetary base to allow enough interest to accrue from that base to offer scholarships to graduating seniors from Valentine High School. The Foundation was able to build up enough base to begin offering $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors beginning with the Class of 2003. Since that time, the Foundation has continued to offer scholarships each academic year with as many as five $1,000 scholarships offered some school years. With the Class of 2011, the Foundation has issued $36,500 in scholarships to Valentine High School graduating seniors.
